Purr - A Gesture Controlled Granular Synthesiser

Using MaxMSP and a Leap Motion sensor, I programmed a playful experimental device that allows users to manipulate audio files through the motion of their hands. Users can bend and stretch the sound as well as adding effects by altering the speed of their movements.

I’ve used the device in workshop settings where people with limited motor control could enjoy producing maximal auditory effects using minimal movement..albeit with quite noisy outcomes!
